We warmly welcome you in the Rundugai village. Learn about the daily activities of different ethnic groups (Maasai, Pare, Chagga, Kamba, Nyiramba) coexisting in one village. Meet and interact with the open colourful people of this vibrant place. The tour starts in Rundugai, a Kijiweni sub-village which serves as a Maasai Market every Monday, onward we proceed to the banana beer centre where you can learn about the process, ingredients and taste a pint of banana beer. If you are lucky and they are preparing a new batch that day you can even help to brew the beer. Next we will visit the highly respected and talented midwife who will tell her incredible stories about several work and life experiences and how she serves the community to this day. Afterwards we meet the herbalist and learn how she uses different traditional medicine from native trees to treat different diseases including cancer, hernia, high blood pressure, diabetes, Skin diseases, and more. You can also assist in preparing these medicines.. As the tour proceeds we meet local crafters who weave mats, baskets and huts. You will get the chance to take a short lesson in weaving. For lunch we met the local mama’s. They will have prepared a buffet of warm dishes for you. From there we move to the Kikuletwa Hotsprings for a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water.
